Nursultan Nazarbayev meets with Mohammad Al Jaber, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Kazakhstan
The sides have noted the importance of strengthening bilateral relations, development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UAE, and the scale-up of cultural ties.
- Our relations have been developing very dynamically since Kazakhstan gained independence. There has always been a close contact with the leadership of the UAE. Thanks to this, we resolved the issue of a visa-free regime between the countries, increased the number of flights, which led to an increase in tourists and, in general, influenced the growth of economic ties, said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Mohammad Al Jaber, in turn, on behalf of the leadership of his country congratulated Nursultan Nazarbayev and Kazakhstan’s nation on Independence Day, wishing Kazakhstan further successful development and prosperity.
- Kazakhstan is one of the UAE key partners in Central Asia. We also regard in a positive light the achievement of an agreement on a visa-free regime, which will affect the simplification of contacts between entrepreneurs, and will contribute to investment activity, the Ambassador emphasized.
The diplomat also handed over to Nursultan Nazarbayev the Carpet of Peace created as part of the humanitarian project of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mohamed bin Zayed.

For reference:
The Carpet of Peace project aims to promote the traditional craftsmanship of carpet weaving and resist the penetration of war images into this art. As part of the project, craftspeople make carpets with their vision of a peaceful and prosperous life.
It is being actualized in contrast to the tradition of making Afghan carpets of war, depicting a military conflict, combatants and weapons.
