Nursultan Nazarbayev meets with Almaty’s mayor Bakytzhan Sagintayev

The head of the metropolitan city told Elbasy about the main socio-economic indicators of the city plan in January 2020 and the perspective view for its continued growth.
In addition, Bakytzhan Sagintayev informed Nursultan Nazarbayev about implementing state and industry programs in the development of production, construction, support for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as attracting investments.
So, according to the akim of Almaty, the investments in January 2020 exceeded KZT 43.2 billion. The growth compared to January last year amounted to 22%. Retail volume grew by 7.5%. It was noted that in the first month of this year, 84.4 thousand square meters of housing were commissioned in the city, which is 6.7% more than last year's January figures.
Elbasy noted the importance of the work carried out by the municipal government.
- Previous year ended with good performance. Almaty is the largest metropolis of Kazakhstan. I know that there are many problems in the city. But they have always been. They are issues of ecology, transport, development of small and medium-sized businesses, migration and employment. These problems have been known to us for a long time. It is important to solve them on a systematic basis, said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The First President of Kazakhstan has also drawn attention to the need to provide the growing population of the city with social facilities as hospitals, schools, kindergartens.
