International statuses of N. Nazarbayev

Honorary Chairman of the

Supreme Eurasian Economic Council

The First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev was awarded the status of Honorary Chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on May 29, 2019, during a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. The title was given to in recognition of Nursultan Nazarbayev’s exceptional role as an author of the idea of the Eurasian integration, as well as his contribution to creation, development and strengthening of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

The decision was made by the presidents of the following states: Belarus – Aleksandr Lukashenko, Kazakhstan – Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyzstan – Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Russia – Vladimir Putin and by the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

EEU Member States: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

Observer States: Cuba, Moldova and Uzbekistan.

 

Honorary Chairman of the

Organization of Turkic States

The First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev was awarded the status of Honorary Chairman of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States on October 15, 2019 in Baku (the Republic of Azerbaijan), during the 7th summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States. The title was given to in recognition of Nursultan Nazarbayev’s special merits in unification of the Turkic World and creation of the Turkic cooperation organizations.

The decision was signed by the presidents of the following states: Azerbaijan – Ilham Aliyev, Kazakhstan – Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Turkey – Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Uzbekistan – Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States changed its name to the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) on November 12, 2021.

The OTS Member States: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan.

Observer States: Hungary, Turkmenistan.

 

Honorary Chairman of the

Consultative Meetings of the Heads of Central Asian States

The First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev was awarded the status of Honorary Chairman of the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of Central Asian States on November 29, 2019 in Tashkent (the Republic of Uzbekistan), during the 2nd Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States.

The decision was made by the presidents of the following state: Kazakhstan – Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Tajikistan – Emomali Rahmon, Turkmenistan – Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Uzbekistan – Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Consultative Meetings are attended by the Heads of Central Asian States – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

 

Champion for a Nuclear-Test-Free World

The First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev was named as a Champion of a Nuclear-Test Free World for a Nuclear Weapons Free World for 2020-2022 under the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) on August 26, 2020, during a high-level meeting of the UN General Assembly, organized on the occasion of the International Day against Nuclear Tests (marked annually on August 29). The title was given to in recognition of special historical contribution of Kazakhstan during Nursultan Nazarbayev’s leadership to the global efforts in a nuclear-free world building.

The CTBTO Preparatory Commission has been operating since 1997 in Vienna (the Republic of Austria). Member States – 185 countries.

 

Head of the CICA Council of Eminent Persons

On October 27, 2021, the Member States of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) decided to appoint the Founder of CICA, the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev as Head of the CICA Council of Eminent Persons.

The CICA consists of 27 Asian countries (Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Egypt, India, Israel, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Russia, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, Uzbekistan and Vietnam), 9 Observer States (Belarus, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, USA), 5 Observer Organizations (United Nations, Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, International Organization for Migration, League of Arab States, Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries), as well as 5 Partner Organizations (Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, Economic Cooperation Organization, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime).
